Welcome to the Fairfield County History Geo Trail - Our trail will take you all over Fairfield County to many of our small historic towns that make up this great county. We hope you have fun and experience all our county has to offer.

Clear Creek Valley is one of the most pristine and secluded natural areas in Central Ohio. Variations of land surfaces, soils and climates have produced a medley of habitats that harbor more than 800 plant species and 150 species of birds, many of them rare.

You may catch a glimpse of turkey, deer, ruffed grouse, coyote, black vultures or even see the traces of the elusive bobcat along the park's 12 miles of trails.

Centuries of glacial flooding have cut the valley through the Black Hand sandstone leaving an array of scenic cliffs and rugged rock formations overlooking the creek.

Leaning Lena is the name of a house-sized boulder that fell from the cliff and sits at the edge of Clear Creek Road, which runs east-west through the valley. On down the road from Lena is Written Rock - a Cliff of sandstone where two indian trails met at one time and writings were found on the wall by archeologists that were made by Indians - Unfortunately people have spray painted and etched in the wall itself and it was sandblasted by the parks years ago which took some of the writings away. A very majestic view in the valley.
