WASMISS AT SIXTY

This series of caches has been placed to celebrate Wasmiss reaching the milestone age of sixty. Each traditional cache celebrates a decade in her life. By collecting the codes at the top of each of the six logsheets, you’ll be able to find the Bonus cache for the series.

The first six caches are being published on the last day of Wasmiss’s fifties, whilst the bonus will only be published on the first day of her sixties.

- Charlie Chaplin's remains are stolen from Cosier-sur-Vevey, Switzerland.
1979 - Margaret Thatcher becomes the UK's first female prime minister.
- McDonald's restaurants introduce the Happy Meal.
- A freak storm during the Fastnet Race results in the deaths of 15 sailors
- Lord Mountbatten of assassinated by the Provisional Irish Republican Army.
1980 - 1980 Winter Olympics held in Lake Placid, Summer games in Moscow.
- Mount St. Helens erupts in Washington state, USA.
- Record viewing figures watch Dallas to find out “Who shot J.R.?”
- John Lennon is shot dead outside his apartment in New York City.
1981 - First DeLorean DMC-12, a stainless steel sports car with gull-wing doors.
- The first London Marathon with 7,500 runners taking part.
- Space Shuttle Columbia launches on the first shuttle mission STS-1.
- Toxteth riots in Liverpool, start after a mob saves a youth from arrest.
