Geocache Description:

One more for the SideTracked series.

This is a new series of caches across the Isle of Sheppey at the train stations past and present!

The Isle of Sheppey has two train stations but there used to also be a line crossing the island all the way to Leysdown.

The SideTracked series on the Isle of Sheppey are…

plus REALLY SideTracked ones…

Queenborough Pier

Sheerness East

East Minster-On-Sea

Brambledown Halt

Harty Road Halt

will you be able to find them all?

The Sheppey Light Railway brought a small steam engine which was permanently coupled with a carriage for the line in 1905. It remained in use until the outbreak of WW1 where the steam engine portions were scrapped. The carriages were then hauled by normal steam engines until the closure of the line.
