TOTS #7: Sasquatch Hikes the Greenway Traditional Cache

Update 8/4/2021: The TOTS series has suffered from several frequently missing and damaged containers and has been discontinued. This is now a stand-alone cache. We have left the original text below for nostalgia but the secret numbers are no longer relevant. If you would like a coin, find all the remaining active caches and we will send you one.

Most people are unaware that Sasquatch is an excellent hider of geocaches (hey, if you can hide YOURSELF when you're 9 feet tall and everybody on the planet is looking for you, then a geocache is not a big problem).

So it's almost unfair that Mr. Sasquatch has chosen to hide a bison tube here. But if you choose to try anyway, be careful; it could be a trap. You have been warned.

You may be able to find a spot to park on Cresthill Drive or its side streets, but we recommend using the designated area and walking through the park. The location is wheelchair accessible but the cache retrieval is not.

ABOUT THE SERIES: The Trail of the Sasquatch (TOTS) will take you to several "Squatchy" spots in the Roanoke Valley area, where you will be searching for a wide variety of cache types and containers—including some hidden by the Squatch himself (he is a playful dude after all, at least when he's not eating geocachers).

If you can find ALL of these caches before the Squatch finds YOU and uses you for a chew toy, you will be eligible to receive a free TOTS coin. If he finds you first, well...run as far as you can from GZ before he caches...er, "catches" you. We haven't budgeted for a clean-up crew.

All of these caches can be found and logged independently, but each cache has a secret number on the log and/or prominently displayed on the container. If you find ALL of the caches, you may add ALL of the secret numbers together, and go to Virginia's Blue Ridge Visitor Center (101 Shenandoah Ave NE, Roanoke, VA) during business hours with the correct total to receive your commemorative coin.
