Welcome to the Ruddy Doctor Caches, a series of puzzles linked together loosely with a whimsical story following the various regenerations of my favourite Time Lord.
The puzzles are nestled away in passages linking the various Doctor’s regeneration scenes, so you’ll need to skim at least through to find the goods and the occasional clue. You can assume coordinates are N 52° 53.XXX' W 001° XX.XXX' and will need you own pen and tweezers. All were conceived and placed by Doctor RuddRobins + checked and difficulty assessed by Mrs RuddRobins.
The notes at the end are random Docfacts not needed to complete the puzzle. I hope you find it all mildly amusing and it keeps you out of trouble for at least a little while J

The Ruddy Doctor 7: The Seventh Doctor
(A series of energy bolts hit the Tardis while it is in flight. The Doctor is lying unconcious on the floor. The doors open and the Rani enters, carrying a ray gun.)
RANI: Take him to my laboratory.
The Doctor is laid across a square table in the lab, with a multicoloured umbrella by his outstretched left arm.)
DOCTOR: No, no, Mel.
(Suddenly he sits up.)
DOCTOR: That was a nice nap. Now, down to business. I'm a bit worried about the temporal flicker in sector thirteen. There's a bicentennial refit of the Tardis to book in. I must just pop over to Centauri Seven and then perhaps a quick holiday. Right, that all seems quite clear. Just three small points. Where am I? Who am I? And who are you? Stay back!
(He grabs his umbrella then steps back and falls down.)
RANI: DOCTOR, are you sure you're well?
DOCTOR: Of course. Fit as a trombone.
RANI: Fiddle.
DOCTOR: Hmm?
RANI: Fit as a fiddle.
DOCTOR: Are you? Nerves, I expect. Now, let's see. What were we up to, er, what did you say your name was?
RANI: you don't remember me, do you? Do you?
(The Rani moves away and gets reflected in a nearby pyramid.)
DOCTOR: Argh! Who's that?
RANI: Me.
DOCTOR: No, standing next to you.
RANI: That's you, Doctor.
DOCTOR: Me? No wonder I've lost my memory.
RANI: Look, you're supposed to be solving a puzzle, not frightening yourself to death.
DOCTOR: Puzzle?
RANI: Yes, before an explosion threw you to the floor. Me, too. Knocked us both cold. When I came round you looked like this.
DOCTOR: The explosion must have caused me to regenerate.
RANI: You mean, this is what you're going to be like permanently.
(The Doctor shudders)
DOCTOR: I want all mirrors removed from the Tardis henceforth.
RANI: So you remember the Tardis, then?
DOCTOR: Oh yes, the Tardis. And you. There's something not quite in sync. I must be suffering from post-regeneration amnesia.
RANI: Oh, don't worry. It'll soon wear off. Meanwhile, why not solve this puzzle? You said it was important.
DOCTOR: Important? Did I? I wonder what I was up to.
(The DOCTOR peers at the computer screen.)
DOCTOR: Seems pretty far out. Need a genius to unravel it.
MASTER: But you're a genius.
DOCTOR: Oh yes, I definitely remember that. So, I think we can take the three bodies of the alpha centauri system to be one for this exercise . . . yessss including brown dwarves I think too but not Nemesis . . .
This is a trajectory mapping in three parts: First there’s a trip from the Luyten 726-8 binary to Sol (my home-from-home!) and on to the Lalande 21185 red dwarf. Then it seems to hold at Sirius before pointing to the Luhman 16 brown dwarf binary and going from there to the Alpha Centauri star system and finishing at WISE 0855−0714 – which is only a sub-brown dwarf and so not of any great interest you would have thought. Heh – no wonder you had trouble with this, It's all very heliocentric for my adopted home whereas you’d still be thinking in terms of Gamma Kasterbourous, wouldn’t you?
(The Doctor proceeds to solve the puzzle)
I think that ranks closest to one of the simplest puzzles I’ve solved since regenerating. Where to now?
RANI: Home.
DOCTOR: Home?
RANI: The Tardis.
DOCTOR: Yes, the Tardis. There are worlds out there where the sky is burning, where the sea's asleep, and the rivers dream. People made of smoke, and cities made of song. Somewhere there's danger, somewhere there's injustice, and somewhere else the tea's getting cold. Come on, we've got work to do!
Notes
When the TARDIS was attacked by the Rani, the Sixth Doctor was injured and forced to regenerate. After a brief period of post-regenerative confusion and amnesia (chemically induced by the Rani), the Seventh Doctor thwarted the Rani's plans.
The Seventh Doctor has the most profound change in attitude of any of the Doctor's incarnations, beginning as someone bumbling (to the extent of putting himself in danger but not at the cost of his overall great intelligence and benevolent intentions) and progressing into a driven, dark gamemaster whose plans to defeat his adversaries, both old and new, would play out across space and time. He generally displayed an affable, curious, knowledgeable, easygoing, excitable, and charming air. However, as he began to choose his battles and keep a tighter grip on his secrets – from his plans to his very identity – he also presented more serious, contemplative, secretive, wistful, and manipulative sides with undercurrents of mischief and authority (constantly giving the impression that there was more to him than met the eye).
His tendency to reveal only select information to his companion Ace – as well as anyone else around them – was used both in her education and in their adventures, as if he were the only one who should know all the answers and others should come to their own conclusions. In fact, while he appeared to be an unassuming figure, fond of performing magic tricks and displaying notable showmanship, the Seventh Doctor was actually quite powerful and calculating, for he would use his friends and foes alike as pawns in his elaborate chess game against "evil". As Ace herself put it, he was "well devious".
The Doctor's outfit in this incarnation was calmer than his previous attire, but as idiosyncratic as any other. It consisted of an ivory safari jacket with a crimson paisley scarf worn under its lapels and a matching handkerchief in the left pocket, a fob watch chained to the left lapel, a plain white shirt, a scarlet paisley tie, a yellow-brown fair isle-themed pullover adorned with cherry question marks and turquoise zigzag patterns, sand-beige tweed plaid trousers, beige brogue spectator shoes, an ivory colonial-styled Panama cap with a scarlet paisley hatband and an upturned brim and a black umbrella with a cherry question mark-shaped handle.
