AUSTRIAN SUMMITS
	Diese Serie soll euch einige österreichische Berggipfel mit jeweils einer möglichen Anstiegsvariante näherbringen.
	The intention of this series is to present some Austrian summits and recommended ways to reach the respective summit.

AARFELDSPITZ 2284 m
	Der Aarfeldspitz ist ein Berg in der Nähe des Sölkpasses und gehört zu den Rottenmanner und Wölzer Tauern. Der Berg ist auf Steigspuren von der Hornfeldspitze erreichbar. The Aarfeldspitz is a mountain near the Sölkpass and belongs to the Rottenmanner and Wölzer Tauern. The mountain can be reached on footpaths from the Hornfeldspitze.

Anreise Sölkpass / Approach Sölkpass: Von Schöder oder St. Peter im Murtal kommend Richtung Sölkpass bis zur Sölkpasshöhe - alternativ aus dem Ennstal nach St. Nikolai im Sölktal und von dort der Sölkpassstraße bis zum höchsten Punkt folgen.

Coming from Schöder or St. Peter in Murtal in the direction of the Sölkpass to the Sölkpasshöhe - alternatively from the Ennstal to St. Nikolai im Sölktal and from there follow the Sölkpass road to the highest point.

Kurze Tourenbeschreibung / a short description of the hike: Beim Parkplatz an der Passhöhe folgt man dem Steig Nr. 9 in nördlicher Richtung, bis man im Almgelände ankommt. Danach hält man sich rechts und folgt dann links dem Kamm des Berggipfels. Über den stets steigenden Grat geht man in engen Serpentinen hoch und kommt nach dem letzten steilen Teilstück schließlich am Gipfel der Hornfeldspitze an.
Von der Hornfeldspitze geht es immer den Grat entlang oder rechts des Grats in steilen Wiesenflanken zu Aarfeldspitz und Narrenspitze. Meist ist ein Steiglein erkennbar - doch auch ohne Steig ist die Orientierung unschwierig.
Um den Gipfel der Narrenspitze zu erreichen, muss man über einige Blöcke drüberkraxeln - Aufpassen: diese sind meist recht rutschig!

At the parking lot at the top of the pass, follow trail no. 9 in a northerly direction until you reach the alpine pasture area. Then keep to the right and follow the crest of the mountain peak to the left. Over the constantly rising ridge you go up in narrow serpentines and after the last steep section you finally arrive at the summit of the Hornfeldspitze.
From the Hornfeldspitze you always follow the ridge or slightly right of the ridge in steep meadow flanks to Aarfeldspitz and Narrenspitze. Most of the time a little path is recognizable - but even without a path the orientation is not difficult.
To reach the summit of the Narrenspitze, you have to scramble over some boulders - watch out: these are usually quite slippery!

Abstieg:Man geht den gleichen Weg zurück. Achtung beim Abstieg von der Hornfeldspitze: das oberste steile Stück erfordert Trittsicherheit.

Descent:You go back the same way. Attention when descending from the Hornfeldspitze: the steepest part requires surefootedness.

Cachebeschreibung / Spoiler

Der Cache befindet sich bei einem markanten Felsen nahe des Gipfels. Der Cachebehälter ist eine Munitionsbox, die ausreichend Platz für Tauschgegenstände bietet! In der Munitionsbox befindet sich eine Lock&Lock Dose mit Logbuch, ein paar Stiften und eine Stash Note. Bringt sicherheitshalber immer einen eigenen Stift mit - danke!

The cache is located at a prominent rock near the summit. The cache container is an ammunition box, which offers enough space for exchange items! In the ammo box is a Lock&Lock box with logbook, a few pens and a stash note. To be on the safe side, always bring your own pen - thanks!
