Hello Woonsocket!!!
An extension of Transplanted Texans in Rhode Island series.
Out and about doing my rideshare gig late at night and stopped here to stretch the legs. I have never been here before and know nothing about Woonsocket or the immediate surrounding area. So here's the deal, in the log tell me any cool and fun things to do here and around Woonsocket. Any festivals? Music venues? Nature areas? Cool antique stores or eateries? Let me know, because I want to know the best that Woonsocket has to offer.
Any information from locals not only helps and is appreciated by me, but the fellow visiting cachers will benefit from the information as well.
I have it as a winter friendly cache, but when I placed it there is a lot of ice on the walkways so be careful in winter months as it doesn't seem the parks here in Woonsocket are used or deiced in winter.
The cache is in the open and easily seen (hopefully will not get muggled this way). I always wanted to hide a cache inside this opening (just not this type), so be on the look out in the future for a beefier hide inside one of these gaping openings that help to light up the dark.
As a new discoverer of geocaching I have been very excited to start hiding my own caches but as it is too much of a hassle to track down a good hide and find the right person to ask permission from, as I am not one to just throw out random hides in guardrails and light posts even though you now have to have written permission to get these published as well, I will no longer look to participate in the hiding aspect. Guess that is why here it is spring and beginning of summer and how many new caches are being published in Rhode Island?
