Die vielen positiven Rückmeldungen zu unserer Serie des Berner Stadtbachs haben uns inspiriert, einen neuen Fluss in Angriff zu nehmen. Dieses Mal ist es die Urtene (auch „Urtenenbach“ genannt), welche in der Nähe von Münchenbuchsee entspringt und durch den Moossee fliesst, bis sie zwischen Bätterkinden und Schalunen in die Emme mündet.
Als Orientierungshilfe findest Du ein paar Kartenausschnitte für diese Etappe, in welchen der Bach blau (oberirdisch) oder rot gestrichelt (unterirdisch) eingezeichnet ist. Achtung: Der folgende Link startet den Download einer Datei mit weiteren Details, die zum Finden des Geocaches benötigt werden. Als Cachebesitzer versichere ich, dass diese Datei ungefährlich ist. Die Datei und ihr Inhalt sind nicht vom Geocaching HQ oder einem Geocache Reviewer auf schädlichen Inhalt überprüft worden und die Datei wird auf eigene Gefahr heruntergeladen. Download aus Dropbox.

Den dritten Teil startest Du in Mattstetten. Diese Gemeinde erreichst Du am besten mit der Buslinie 38 des RBS (Regionalverkehr Bern-Solothurn). Parkplätze sind eher rar. Das Ziel ist irgendwo in der Nähe von Hindelbank. Leider wirst Du den Urtenenbach auf dieser Route nicht so oft sehen wie bei den anderen Abschnitten. Achtung: In der Nähe von Stage 8 hat es zwischendurch Schiessbetrieb – dann musst Du einen kleinen Umweg machen!
Die Koordinaten der Einzelposten sind vorgegeben. Um den Final zu finden, musst Du aber ein Fotorätsel absolvieren. Dazu benötigst Du eine PDF-Datei mit Bildausschnitten, die Du vorgängig herunterladen musst (siehe Dropbox-Link weiter oben). Zu jedem Posten gibt es einen Bildausschnitt und eine Frage. Die Bildausschnitte tragen die Buchstaben A bis I. Beantworte bei jedem Posten die Zusatzfrage und notiere die Antwort (Zahl) beim Buchstaben des Bildausschnitts, der zum Posten passt. Die Bildausschnitte sind immer in der Nähe der Antwort. Du startest bei N 47° 01.796 / E 7° 30.814.
Wichtiger Hinweis: In jedem Logbuch oder auf jedem Logstreifen im Final findest Du Wortfetzen. Du brauchst sie, um die Schluss-Koordinaten zu berechnen. Schreib’ sie also an einem sicheren Ort auf. Pass’ auf, dass Du den richtigen Wortfetzen notierst – es gibt einen für die deutsche und einen für die englische Fassung.

The many positive responses to our series on Berne's Stadtbach have inspired us to tackle a new stream. This time it's the Urtene (also known as the ‘Urtenenbach’), which rises near Münchenbuchsee and flows through the Moossee until it joins the Emme between Bätterkinden and Schalunen.
As an orientation aid, you will find a few map sections for this stage, in which the stream is marked in blue (above ground) or dashed red (underground). Attention: The following link starts the download of a file with further details needed to find the geocache. As the cache owner, I assure you that this file is not dangerous. You start the third part in Mattstetten. The best way to reach this municipality is to take the RBS (Regionalverkehr Bern-Solothurn) bus route 38. Car parking spaces are rare. The destination is somewhere near Hindelbank. Unfortunately, you won't see the Urtenenbach as often on this route as on the other sections. Please note: Sometimes shooting might take place near Stage 8 – if so, you will have to make a small detour!
