Welcome to the Cathedral of Smoke
After a full day of geocaching adventures, there’s nothing more satisfying than indulging in authentic Texas barbecue. We invite you to gather at the renowned “Cathedral of Smoke”—Louie Mueller BBQ. Established in Taylor in 1949, Louie Mueller BBQ has become famous for its use of local post oak in the pit, transforming meat into magic that has delighted guests for generations. Louie Mueller BBQ is recognized as one of the best barbecue restaurants in the world. Its accolades include the prestigious James Beard award in 2006, as well as regular appearances on the Texas Monthly “Best Barbecue Restaurants in Texas” list.
As you arrive, let the incredible smell guide you past the smoky walls to the Altar of the Cathedral, where you’ll find Wayne Mueller, the third-generation pitmaster. Wayne continues his family’s legacy, welcoming visitors to enjoy the legendary barbecue that has earned Louie Mueller international acclaim.

Swag Packet Pickup
If you haven’t picked up your swag packet at the Expo Center between 2:00 and 5:00 PM, don’t worry—we’ll be available on the porch to distribute them during the event.
