WT10 - Tottenham - World Tour Destination Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

TOMTEC: Since the World Tour series is done, I figured it was time to archive this one and free up the space for more caches in Tottenham. Elf had not found it yet, so I passed her the GPS and the cache info and let her lead the way. Each of the stage info was easy to spot, even in the dark. The cache was soon in hand at 17:58h after a nice walk down the rail trail, avoiding a couple dirt bikes. I picked up the TB to move along, and we removed the container to archive the cache. Thanks everyone for visiting!

Stage 10 of the series.
WT10 - Tottenham - World Tour Destination
by TOMTEC

At the listed coordinates, you will find the South Simcoe Railway, home of the Tottenham Steam Train. No need to enter the station, but if they are open, feel free to take a ride or just look around!

In front of you, you will find a row of stationary rail cars.
Facing the fence from right to left (from the outside) you'll see:
  • South Simcoe Nottawasaga Passenger Coach built in 1896
  • Older Wood Shealthed Boxcar with Windows
  • Newer Metal Sided Canadian National Boxcar
Time for some math...

Passenger Car Stock Number = __ __ __
Wood Box Car Number of Windows = __
Metal CPR Boxcar Volume in Cubic Feet = __ __ __ __

To locate Stage 2, take the stock number on the side of the passenger car and multiply that with the number of windows on one side of the wooden boxcar. (Don't count the one in the door)
Divide this number by 1000 and add it to the minutes of N44 00.428
Take the volume in cubic feet of the metal Canadian Pacific boxcar, divide by 1000 and add it to the minutes of W79 44.517

N44 00.428 W79 44.517
+~~~ _.___ +~~~ _.___
N44 0_.___ W79 4_.___

Welcome to Stage 2 - End of the line, time to jump track!
At the calculated coordinates, you will find an old metal signal sign with a weathered number in the format AB.CD (Don't worry, the same numbers are on both sides)
Record the coresponding digits for each letter below and substitute them into the following coordinates:

A = ____
B = ____
C = ____
D = ____
E = A - 1 = ____
F = C + D = ____
G = B + C - 3 = ____
H = A - B + C + D = ____

N44 00.H G C W79 48.E B F
N44 00._ _ _ W79 48._ _ _

The cache is a green painted Lock & Lock container hidden just off the rail trail. It may get swampy around here in Spring time!

The "World Tour" Multi-Cacher Multi-Cache is a cooperative effort of 18 Geocachers.   Each of the individual Stage caches may be treated as a normal, single cache.    You can complete the 20 Stages in any order.    Each Stage will include a *SECRET*, written on the underside of the cache container lid.    Don't forget to write it down if you plan to tackle the Final Stage!
