About This Item

Laura and I have hoped not to run into any creepy crawlers while on our Spring break 2024 in Australia, but we did. On the occasion of visiting this new continent, we decided to buy and release two TBs, which encapsulate our phobias and the possibly dangerous nature of this country. We hope these two will be traveling for a while around the continent (or region), and document some similar stories of other geocachers.

Laura's nope rope and Tommy's hairy legs are a snake and spider TB released in April 2024. We hope for these two TBs to travel the continent and gather stories and photos of the wildlife encounters (fun or scary) which this country has to offer. Hopefully, none too scary!

We hope to see many photos of the TBs' travels, and hope the two TBs can race against each other to see who travels further. Tommy's Hairy legs was dropped off first at the countries' first robotic book retrieval library, while Laura's Nope Rope stayed with us for 2603.4km until April 16th, when it was left at the old Gippy TB hotel. We added 12 photos to is gallery and hope you can add some too! Safe travels!

Took this to begin its race

After another part of our drive, it was now late, dark, and we were tired. Laura not only found us a hotel to stay for the night, but also found this stash for us to visit. We decided we would drop you here, now that our short journey together seems nicely complete. We arrived to this continent with a slight prejudice of the scary and dangerous animals which patrol the country. And for the occasion of our visit, we activated two TBs which shall race against each other. This is the second of which we drop, so that it can continue its journey beyond us. Tommy’s hairy legs have found a new home in an Australian library, and Laura’s nope rope finds its temporary home here.

We hope this TB is able to joinery around the country, and perhaps logs some stories of animal encounters along its way. Most importantly, we hope to see some nice photos of its travels!

This seemed like a nice place to say goodbye, and so we finally did. We with you safe travels and hope you meed many great friends across your journeys around the continent! TB in!

  • We say goodbye here. We say goodbye here.
  • TB in! Safe travels! TB in! Safe travels!

I love airplanes and airports; and as we were on the highway and I saw an airport, it was obvious we should stop by to visit this stash. What a cool stop! We discovered one geocoin here which we left, and said goodbye to two of your travelog friends who have been with us for a while. But we keep going with you; on to the next one!

Another stop in the area, this was a great opportunity to snap a photo with another animal. As we approached GZ and got the logbook out, two very curious swans approached us and tried to check what we were logging. They got close enough that they seemed very curious about this TB, so we took a nice photo together as well!

Finally making it to the koala island, this is another very memorable and unforgettable experience. Spending some time with wild koalas, getting really up close to them and watching them in their natural habitat. These tamed wild koalas were so adorable, and let us take such a wonderful photo with this TB. Who would have ever thought…!?

Today we had a loooooong day ahead of us. We were exciting to visit the koala island and see some real koalas, but we still had a long drive there. Luckily, there was this geocache along the way which we could stop by at and shorten our long drive.
