Shrieking for Freedom

“It is said the eagle was used as a national emblem because, at one of the first battles of the Revolution (which occurred early in the morning) the noise of the struggle awoke the sleeping eagles on the heights and they flew from their nests and circled about over the heads of the fighting men, all the while giving vent to their raucous cries. "They are shrieking for Freedom," said the patriots.” – From www.baldeagleinfo.com

This eagle would like to travel to locations of historic significance from the time of the American Revolution or caches near them. Spots like Independence Hall, Valley Forge, Mount Vernon, or Betsy Ross’s house are where he’d like to soar. Pictures of his travels are always welcome.

Since he is an eagle, let’s try to keep him soaring.

The Eagle soared for awhile on Federal Hill in New Jersey - this was a pretty cool place that was used in a long line of Beacons to warn of an attack from the direction of the Hudson River. http://graphicwitness.com/federalhill/ has more info (sorry - I don't know how to make a link yet)

We will look for a new place to place the Eagle soon - maybe somewhere in Maryland since we're headed there next weekend.
