Elf and I took advantage of this awesome Victoria Day weather to paddle around on the Credit. I wasn't planning to find caches, but after discovering on by accident, we figured we'd look around. We signed the log book at 20:50h. The log book was wet. Thanks for the hide.

Elf and I took advantage of this awesome Victoria Day weather to paddle around on the Credit. I wasn't planning to find caches, but after discovering one of the Credit series caches by accident, I remembered that I had this one on my canoe bookmark list, and looked it up.
Unfortunately, we had already paddled past some very important info, but I had a brainwave while enjoying a snack, and realized I may already have some of the other info required. So I did some math, it looked reasonable, and we were back on track!
Approaching ground zero, everything was looking good, so we made our approach. The grass was reasonable, but the Nettles were out in force. One got me good while reaching for the container.
Since the container was open and contents destroyed, there really was nothing to sign, so I took a photo of the remains at 19:10h and will claim it as my log.
Next time I'll read up on the caches, as I would have brought an ammo can, had I know I was going to be caching. I guess that's a good enough excuse to make a return paddle trip, right?

What better way to celebrate the arrival of a brand new GPS unit then to throw an event? Wait, that's not true... go find a cache! ...that's it. Why not do both? The cookies were tasty, the company entertaining, washoos challenging, and the bum darts.... well... words can not explain, you just have to experience it.
Like clockwork, our wonderful neighbour made his appearance. This time it was a comedy act... seriously, who takes 45 minutes just to fire up a generator? It was great seeing old friends, and even meeting a few new ones. Thanks everyone for coming, we'll do it again soon.

Canoe adventure day in Rockwood with Elf, Rainbow, Juicepig and Natamilie. This was my target for the day, even though we found it back in 2009 at GHAGAFAP. It was great to have a chance to get back on the water today, and paddle over to the cave. Elf was itching to jump out of the boat and explore with her new lights. We found the cache again, safe and sound, and CITO’d a folding chair from the water to dispose of properly. Thunderstorms were approaching, so we debated continuing on, or paddling back. Too late, we get to sit here under a tree and enjoy the refreshing downpour. Thanks for the hide, and keeping it alive!

Canoe adventure day in Rockwood with Elf, Rainbow, Juicepig and Natamilie. We followed the trail of Potholes after the cave of Fossils. There was a picnic happening 10 feet from the cache, so we skipped stealth and just introduced ourselves while making the find. I signed the log at 14:45 and we replaced it as found.

Canoe adventure day in Rockwood with Elf, Rainbow, Juicepig and Natamilie. We followed the trail of Potholes after the cave of Fossils. It is very nice how the conservation area has tried to protect this area while still providing access. Great view from the boardwalk, and even better from the canoe! We floated through at 14:40h and snapped a bunch of photos. Chip is afraid of drowning, so he opted not to pose this time.
