Although this coin will stay with me for the time being, I intend to take it to all of those caches that I put off for various reasons and invariably say "I'll find it when I get a round tuit".
Geocoinstore.com had always planned on making 3 or 4 different colour schemes of this coin but they never - got a round tuit! Knuck!
But seriously, they rushed the original version out in hope it would hit the table at GeocoinFest 2007 but were just a hair too late. So they took their time on the second set and produced a variety of different "flavours" to choose from.
These all use the same mould and die, so it helps you see how the use of different platings and transparent colours can make a coin look different. On one version, they left out the colouring from the "gills" so you can see what the base metal alone looks like. They were happy to have these back in the store - another great Mackey design!
