Here is my log from the cache, glad to have taken it with me.
Let me first say this one was way more than I had expected and that I now have in my possession a coin that I have taken from this cache. What an adventure it has been. I was also amazed at the diversity and friendliness of our State Parks. This year’s slogan is “Making Memories” and I have made lots of them and they will last a lifetime.
Caching with B62 and Legoguys in the northeastern part of the state was another day I will not soon forget. The trips I made with Woodwalker hunting caches are always a good time and his encouragement helped me along the way. The fine folks who work in the state parks need a little credit also, for without them placing and maintaining they and their friendly demeanor and willingness to offer helpful hints I could not have made it as easily with out them.
A little about the parks, I had know idea our state had so much to offer. From the huge Cypress trees in Hampson to the beautiful Lake Chicot at sunset, the rough beauty of the Cossatot River I will not soon forget. I enjoyed the lovely lakes of Fort Smith, Ouachita and Daisy just to name a few. Logoly surprised me on how they are trying to teach us to live better and understand how we affect nature. Other things also stand out like the hilltop Queen Wilhelmina lodge one of the prettiest drives I have ever made, Devils Den whose beauty I was amazed by and hope to return to both soon. You also cannot forget the historic sights such as Historic Washington, Powhatan and Arkansas Post just to mention a few. Now I know the story of the Louisiana Purchase and how it came to be, the first Governor James Conway and Herman Davis a World War I hero from our great state.
Yes, this adventure has taught me a lot of our state and now I know where to learn more about our great state. Spend a little time with the park interrupters and see what all they have to offer, you will not be disappointed always willing to help and inform at the same time. The parks are wonderful and so are the people working in them, I know that I have left out some and I am sorry for that. My fond memories will remain deep in my mind and I cherish them all and will keep them with me always.
Thank you for everything.
