Retrieve It from a Cache 5/12/2012 Cheevo & Boo Boo retrieved it from United Oatman Mine Arizona   Visit Log

Figured that not too many visitors would get to the mine cache during the hot summer, so brought this coin home to California with us.

Decided to send Wildcoin in a holiday package to a fellow geocacher down south so he won't get stuck in hibernation up here in the mountains. Here's Wildcoin's last Montana visit before heading to the desert....greetings from Glacier National Park

    • Holiday greetings from Glacier
Visited 11/11/2011 billdev took it to Ran short of overlook Montana - .19 miles  Visit Log

One last cache for 11/11/11 and a nice loop hike on this nice fall day. Hope the Wildcoin enjoyed a breather where he was safe from hunters. No hunting in Herron Park. Where to next, little guy?

    • hiding in the rocks
    • a view across Flathead Valley looking into the Swan Range
Visited 11/11/2011 billdev took it to At the Overlook Montana - .59 miles  Visit Log

Continuing the hike for another cache on 11/11/11. This one had nice views of Foys Lake and golden needles still clinging on the larch. It'll look pretty white by tomorrow if we believe our weatherman. Maybe today's hike is getting Wildcoin prepared for a trip to the southwest.

    • Hung up to dry should be accessible in winter
    • looking over Foys Lake and into Glacier National Park and the North Fork of the Flathead River....winter's a coming, but a feel larch still golden.
Visited 11/11/2011 billdev took it to Kid's cache Montana - 19.76 miles  Visit Log

We wanted to take Wildcoin out on 11/11/11 to document this momentous calendar date. He visited probably one of the biggest cache boxes we've ever seen. We are a bit dubious on how this cache will fare in the winter, as you can tell by this picture. Today is a day to remember and thank all our Veterans, too.

    • honking big cache box Dressed up in leaves, could be interesting sight when it snows!
Visited 11/8/2011 billdev took it to Tally Ho Montana - 83.06 miles  Visit Log

Thought the Wildcoin might enjoy a trip out to scenic Tally Lake. He enjoyed the reflection from the overlook. And as luck was with us, the Wildcoin got to see some slash burning right at the trailhead....always on the lookout for fire.

    • Larch at Tally Lake
Visited 10/16/2011 billdev took it to Summit Lake Montana - 122.17 miles  Visit Log

Took the Wildcoin to Helena today and found this dandy cache. This area is a good example of "fire-wise" stewardship and reducing hazardous fuels.

    • checking out Summit Lake
Visited 9/25/2011 billdev took it to Charcoal Kilns Montana - 2.61 miles  Visit Log

Wanted to give Wildcoin another "fire" experience and what better one that to take him to this site of 23 charcoal kilns.

    • keep the fire burning continuing with the theme of exploring caches relating to fire, hope the Wildcoin has enjoyed his adventure at the Charcoal Kilns in Montana
Visited 9/25/2011 billdev took it to Merry Christmas Montana - 190.61 miles  Visit Log

Had to give Wildcoin a break for hanging out to get a little educational history of mining in Montana in the early days. Hope he enjoyed his trip to this cache.
