Arnie the Armadillo

Armadillos are an unusual creature. They can hold their breath to walk underwater to cross a river. They always give birth to identical quadruplets. They have a hard shell for protection and long hair on their bellies. They have been around for thousands of years but still remain a curiosity.

We took Arnie to the National Zoo, where there was supposed to be an Armadillo, in the small mammal house. Unfortunately, at about an hour from closing time, the Armadillo itself was DNF... so we got photos with the next best thing available. Hope he enjoyed our travels.
