About This Item

My 1000 find was El Diablo GC1251Y. It was a very well done cache on an abandoned railroad bridge. If the cache is ever archived, I'll add more to this description. A special thanks to H2Guy for placing El Diablo, and then for giving me this coin to celebrate the event.

Original Find 6/10/07: This 9Key cache is now archived. What makes this multicache so clever is that it makes use of voice recording. When you lifted the fence cap you found a small recorder attached to the inside of the fence cap. Once push of the button and it spoke the redirect coordinates to you..cool!

I absolutely loved this cache. It's archived now, but what a great one. The cache was a pine cone in an evergreen tree. What made it so special is that the cone was a good twenty feet up in the tree. The cache owner had taken the time to climb the tree and place a series of eye screws along the branch and down the trunk. He fed a fishing wire from the cone down through the eyes and to the trunk were a person could reach it. If you found the fishing wire, you could unwind it and let down the cone to sign the log. When you were done, you hoisted it up and tied it off for the next cacher. Simply awesom!

Original Find 3/17/07: This cache was in a wood area and made use of natural material. What made it so clear was the use of laquer, eyes, and a tiny bottle. All of this is not visable until the outter natural layer is removed. I like this one.

Original Find 3/10/07: This cache has been archived, so I can reveal the full cache. It was a silverish colored waterpoof cardboard with a magnetic backside. It blended with the color of the electric tower. The unique cache required that you press your name into the cardboard with a stylus or pen tip. Very cool cache.

Original Find 2/6/07: This 9key cache uses a fake prickly pear to hide it. After finding it, I sent a message to the owner asking where to get something like this camo. This cache inspired me to place the first version of Black-chinned Hummer in Arbor Hills.
