About This Item

My 1000 find was El Diablo GC1251Y. It was a very well done cache on an abandoned railroad bridge. If the cache is ever archived, I'll add more to this description. A special thanks to H2Guy for placing El Diablo, and then for giving me this coin to celebrate the event.

Cache is in a closed off road with the white road markers still on the road. One has been pried off. The road has been dug out a bit and a cache placed in it. The white bump was velcroed back in place. It looks like the other white road dividers.

Retrieve It from a Cache 7/4/2009 Yadin retrieved it from H-1 (2560) Texas   Visit Log

The cache is a glass test tube with a stopper in it. A battery is in the bottom with the log on top. When you take off the stopper and shake it, the battery ramps the log out of the test tube. The cache fits in a fence post hole.

Retrieve It from a Cache 6/24/2009 Yadin retrieved it from Faux George Texas   Visit Log

Clever cache from a new cacher. It's a 35 mm film canister with spray foam sealer sprayed on it. The expanding foam was formed to be semi-round and rough like a rock. The foam was splash painted with shades of gray and white to look like a rock. The faux rock sits in a bunch of landscape river rock just behind a fence.

Retrieve It from a Cache 6/10/2009 Yadin retrieved it from Duck, Duck, Goose, uh... Mallard Texas   Visit Log

The area is a city park with a nice lawn and tons of domestic ducks on a pond. GZ takes you to the other side of the pond where there are three duck decoys set adrift. The middle duck is tethered under water with a chain and purple thin rope. You have to some how get the duck and pull it to you. The ammo can is attached to the duck. It just floats under water with the duck keeping it up.

This is an electrical plate cover cache. What made this a step above the others like this is the added foam insulation and matching color. The plate is gray, with black foam edging and screws to look like it is held in place. The plate is attached to a typical electrical box between a Red Tip hedge.
