(6016) This year we decided to day trip to the 'Bash. JeePS(her) is pregnant and we have moved a little closer so a day trip seemed to make sense. Lil' JeePSr decided to stay home with her cousins for the day.

We arrived, in the area and had lunch at Ryan's where we met NOSNOW. When our stomachs were full we headed down to the fairgrounds and signed in. We headed to the bug barn and traded trackables and then spent a little time in Spangler catching up with old friends and traded a handful of pathtags. We browsed the auction and put in a couple of bids but didn't win anything.

Just as we were about to head out to cache around the fairgrounds the heavens opened and we were forced back inside. Pity the vendors couldn't open during the downpour ... as soon as the rain eased off we began walking the grounds in search of caches and munzees. After wandering inside the campgrounds for a while we decided to head back for the Jeep to grab some of the caches on the outskirts as JeePS(her) was starting to tire. We walked back through Spangler, visited a couple of the vendors - got our proxy coins and some new trackables for our vehicles and then went caching and munzee hunting some more.

Around 5 we headed into town to find somewhere else to eat and came across O'Sullivan's which was awesome - we'd highly recommend this place. After dinner we'd planned on stopping for the photo but parking was limited so we found a few more munzees and then got on the road headed for home. Thanks for a fun day out.

(5983) We moved from Iowa to Michigan a month ago and were looking for Flash Mob event to attend. This one seemed to be close enough, so this morning we made our way South with Lil' JeePSer. Big thanks to Tsmola for breaking the ice and saying hi. It's hard to remember faces you know when looking at a sea of strangers. We had some good conversation with a few attendees and traded Travel bugs and a couple of pathtags which is always fun. We signed the log, took a diet coke, grabbed the cache in the park and hung around for the photo. Then it was time to head North again towards home. Thanks for the event and the chance to start meeting people in the Michigan Geocaching community.

(5963) We've eyeballed this event for the last few years but living in Iowa made it difficult to attend. We moved to Michigan a month ago and decided that it was now or never. We made the trip up on Friday and stayed at the Grand for the weekend. It was an interesting event and time of year to visit the island with the stores and restaurants more focused on getting ready for the season than the tourists trying to spend money. We brought Pathtags to trade but ended up only trading about 3 of them. This was the first event that we have attended as we begin to get ourselves integrated into the MI Geocaching Community, we look forward to attending more and getting to know people.
