(5948) This was a bitter sweet event for us. We have many fond memories of caching in Iowa and love the people that we've met. We were glad so many could make it to the event (31) but it reminded us what we are leaving behind. We got so many well wishes, cards and gifts that we were overwhelmed with the generosity of our Iowa geocaching family. We plan on visiting Iowa and plan to be at Wapello in 2013 with the newest member of the JeePSer clan.
swr_rat: JeePS(her) has a co-worker who told a story about how her husband and 2 of his co-workers had found a cache. Reading logs on the 3 Elves' anniversary cache we found the story logged by swr_rat to be very familiar. We called him out at the next Boonies event and sure enough he was one of the co-workers in the story.
The NVG: We were thrilled to see you at the event. Yours was the very first event the Lil' JeePSr attended. It was a flash mob WWFM V "Breaking Away" (GC1N81M) and she was 8 days old. We never did find our own trail of honor cache - perhaps the next time we are in the area 🙂
gmsnrich: You guys always make events fun between coming to flash mobs with the appropriate clothing to having fun with mice near the cabins in Wapello. JeePS(her) really needs to get that video finished and published!
corefam: One of the fondest memories is a pregnant Mrs. Corefam sitting on the concrete outside our Pleasant Hill house with a lap full of plastic easter eggs.
jstrout: We truly appreciate your friendship. You've always gone out of your way to talk to Lil' JeePSr and make geocaching and events as fun for her as they are for us.
Cjandbjjones: More generous cachers you will not find and their surprises are never small, ask Lil’ JeePSr who was the recipient of a hand made Flintstones car that took up our entire front room.
Mon"rose": One of the east side cachers that made our modest 153 day streak possible, also one of the first pathtaggers that we found in Iowa. Always good for a chat and some TB trading.
biscuitt bunch and G-daug: I believe that our first true meeting was at the campsite playground in Wapello, but one of the fondest memories would be completing the Iowa 5 terrain challenge with you (and others).
Hill Folk: What can we say about Hill Folk. We met you at the very first event we attended and hit it off right away. Since then we’ve considered you family both in and out of geocaching. You make it very difficult for us to leave Iowa, but we know that we’ll see you again.
Digger9: We’ve tried to make it to all of your events, sometimes unsuccessfully 🙂 But our fondest memory is caching with you and sitting by the ring of fire at Midwest Geobash in 2010.
Team Gamsci: One of the first cachers that we met on the trail. We were looking for a cache in a giant hollowed out tree in Waterworks park when all of the Gamsci crew showed up to help us make the find.
The 3 Elves: Our east side partners in crime. We’ve cached with them often and will continue to do so. Together we are The 3PSers 🙂 and we find sh!t fast 🙂 We hosted the Boonies events together and have had many breakfast get togethers that didn’t involve caching. We will miss you dearly.
THINKEN5 and rogfink: We had a lot of fun at your St. Paddy’s day event last year and Lil’ JeePSr loved the puppies. We’re sorry we couldn’t make the same event this year but we were delighted to see you both this evening.
Stephenjha and Jorsha: The two cachers at the event that I have never really met. Talking to you however our paths have crossed often, and perhaps they will again in future. Thanks for coming out.
I hope we didn’t miss any of the attendees, apologies if we did. We know that the evening didn’t suit others who would have liked to be there. Unfortunately we needed to suit our own moving schedule for this one. Thanks to everyone who was there in person and to those who attended in spirit. See you on the trails! JeePSer.
