A cute little Cornish pasty, traditionally eaten by the tin miners in Cornwall. The filling was beef, onion, potato and swedewith salt, pepper and butter. Cooked in pastry with crimped edge. The original pasties also has cooked fruit at one end. The miners could hold the crimp, eat the rest and throw the crust to the rats which were used to warn of gas.
