About This Item

Mindawg in Bergan Peak Cache

I like to meet other cachers....especially if they have food! I have visited 46 of the United States as a dawg! However, the map below shows the states that I have been to as a travel bug.

Retrieve It from a Cache 2/10/2012 Team Min Dawg retrieved it from Mindawg's Seedling Colorado   Visit Log

On February 10, 2012 Mindawg hiked over the Rainbow Bridge. She was a brave little girl and she fought the cancer like a real terrier. She battled and lived way longer than so many doctors expected. Eventually, she got tired and made her last hike peacefully in the comfort of her own bed, in her own home with her family next to her.

She has left a huge hole in our hearts, and we will always love her and miss her...the best Dawg EVER!

Dawg was lucky enough to hang out in the Southern California desert during Turkey Day weekend. She ate at her favorite restaurant in San Diego on Turkey Day with her family and her friend Steve, then headed east the next day. Dawg got the great idea to have the car serviced while everyone else was celebrating Black Friday at the malls. All that waiting around for the car can make a Dawg hungry so she ate at her favorite Jamaican restaurant. This is a fun place for Dawg because there are feral cats that hang out in the area. Even at 14, Dawg is still into chasing cats! After all that food and nervous energy spent on the cats, Dawg took a nap while her dad drove to Pine Valley. During the next few days, Dawg went on a really cool hike in Nobel Canyon, visited a train museum, visited this cache and surrounding area, found a nudist colony, went on another cool desert hike and spent a couple of nights in Pine Valley. What better way for a dawg to spend Turkey weekend than sniffing in the relatively warm desert!!!

Gross! Gross! Gross! When would it ever be ok to leave a dog (or human for that matter!) turd in a public place where someone might step in it? Do these people leave turds around and inside their houses? Never mind....we don't really want to know. Humans are the grossest animals alive!

Dawg was ok with this event until a level 3 rocket went up while she was relatively close to it. There were rockets going up the whole time we were there. Initially we were far away and the noise didn't bother Dawg or her sister. It was only when we decided to get closer to the action that Dawg freaked out. Our timing was bad...or good depending on who on the team you ask! We were as close to the launch pad as you can be and still be behind the line when a big rocket went up. It was really cool to see and hear!!! Unfortunately Dawg didn't think so. She probably would have been ok with the littler rockets if she wouldn't have heard the big one but...she did, and she wasn't. She was escorted back to the safety of her car and immediately calmed down.

Dawg and her sister got restless today and wanted to sniff something new. This is where they sniffed. There were lots of people running. There was a dog off leash in a little secluded grassy area. There was some water but we couldn't get to it. It was a short but sweet hike.
