About This Item

Mindawg in Bergan Peak Cache

I like to meet other cachers....especially if they have food! I have visited 46 of the United States as a dawg! However, the map below shows the states that I have been to as a travel bug.

Dawg walked past this cache 10^6 times while living in the neighborhood. There are some cool old buildings in the area and this is certainly one of them!

Unfortunately Dawg spent most of her time hanging out in the nearby Hilton or driving around LA looking for a new dawg house. This was the only cache she had time to look for.

Retrieve It from a Cache 8/7/2010 Team Min Dawg retrieved it from San Diego County "Historic" Cache Adventure California   Visit Log

Dawg had a fun time finding most of the caches on the list that were required to log this cache. She found all except seven. The seven she didn't find were not necessarily the caches that she wasn't allowed to go to because she is a dog! By far, her favorite was the Secret Canyon cache. She is a riparian-loving Dawg!

  • Dawg At Final Cache....FINALLY! Yea!

Dawg and her team decided to hike to this cache this afternoon. We were not really expecting to find it , but were also really hoping that we would. The hike up was fun but a bit hot so both dawgz were carried. The steep .25 mile of the trail was a bit scary because we were slipping on the way up. Couldn't wait to slip on the way down! At the top, Dawg's dad read the clues while Dawg's mom followed his instructions and found the cache quickly. There is poison oak everywhere up there. There is even some guarding the cache. Dawg's mom is very allergic to the stuff so after the log was signed, it was a race back down the hill and to the shower. On the way down, at the slippery steep part of the trail, a big rattlesnake said, "Hello". Dawg's dad tried to take pictures but didn't want to get too close. It was really cool to see the snake from afar (about 10 feet away).

Dawg and her family met Dawg's grandma in Del Mar for a surprise birthday dinner for Dawg's mom. Both dawgs lucked out because they got to sit at the table with the humans at the restaurant AND one of grandma's friends, Sandra, kept passing them little pieces of whatever meat she was eating at the time. It was rodízio style so there were lots of different meats for the dawgz to sample....and sample they did! After dinner, Dawg and her team knew that they were close to this cache but nobody brought a GPS. Dawg's dad's new Evo has a GPS built in but it wasn't charged so it was useful in the car but not on the trail. Dawg decided she had found caches sans GPS before so why not this one? Dawg's mom memorized the air photo on the Evo and took Dawg to the location where she thought the cache might be and Dawg found the cache easily.
