As the proud owner of several trackables, I know how much of a disappointment it can be when one of your travel bugs or geocoins gets muggled, lost, or stolen.
I understand the anger when a trackable is only a few miles away from reaching his intended destination only to drop off the face of the earth.
I sympathize with you when your prized travel bug, whose only care in the world is to roam aimlessly from cache to cache, finds himself suddenly lost in Europe. After travelling around for months on end, across several states, and from city to city, he has finally reached a new continent to explore; however instead of being afforded the opportunity to sightsee the Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, and the Colosseum, your travel bug gets muggled in Burghausen, Germany.
Yes....Burghausen.
For geocachers, an old mantra rings true: "It is not IF, but WHEN, a trackable gets stolen."
This trackable's only mission is to stay travelling for as long as possible without getting muggled, lost, abducted, swiped, withdrawn, kidnapped, carried off, or held for ransom. He doesn't have a final destination in mind, and he certainly doesn't care how many miles he racks up in his journeys. He just wants to be, man; he seeks to exist.
I sincerely thank all geocachers who help this trackable on his mission to NOT GET STOLEN. The vast majority of geocachers are upstanding, moral citizens, and very few of us intend to ever deter a trackable from the geocaching game field; we sometimes simply misplace those travel bugs that we pick up.
However, in discovering or moving this trackable, please take a lesson away with you: remember that geocachers love their travel bugs. Great fun and excitement is provided in seeing bugs' journeys around the globe. In the future, always be mindful to deposit the trackables that you pick up into another geocache within a reasonable length of time (two weeks according to geocaching.com). Don't harm or vandalize the trackables that you discover. And for the love of Uncle Sam, never EVER steal a travel bug or geocoin.
Note: If you are having difficulty seeing the image etched on the travel bug, hold it up against a light.
