Current Goal

We want this bug to travel as many places as possible so we can track this travel bug at school. Racing Ruler #1, #2, #3 and #4 are part of a challenge to see whose can go the farthest by the last day of school, May 25, 2006.

**Now that the school year has ended, the new goal for these rulers is to continue to travel, visiting caches and taking pictures along the way while increasing the travel miles. BTW The teacher's ruler won the original contest! We will be beginning a new contest with these rulers once the school year begins again and my students will be checking up on the adventures of all the rulers! Thanks for helping us along.

What a great idea for a TB. This one looks like it's late for school, but hopefully not much longer. I'll place it in a new cache I just published so it might get going back to school soon!

Sorry to keep this ruler so long but I was measuring my summer vacation by hours of work 💀. Hopefully this bug can keep traveling and when school starts up again the race can continue.

Well now that school is out I'm not sure what this ruler wants to do but I know that since I'm out of school for the summer there's only one thing I want to do...go caching! I'll do my best to move this bug onto another interesting cache soon. Hopefully it will measure up to all the other caches this bug has seen.

There must have been a mixup since we found this travel bug in a cache near Kings Canyon National Park / California. We really like the idea of the race and now that #4 made it all the way to the Pacific coast, we hope it will win the race.

  • This is where we found it One of the world's largest trees was just five minutes from where we found the cache. It would take 253 racing rulers to measure the circumfence of this tree.
  • This is where we left it Ruler #4 is now overlooking the Pacific Ocean and it would take 26,000 rulers of its kind to measure the depth of the Monterey Canyon.
