Road trip time. That means, many quick stops, some less memorable than others, and logs which aren't as high quality.

I would recommend going back to January 2nd, and before, to read the really nice long individualized logs for every stash visited!!!

Well this is incredibly exciting! For the third day in a row (and the third day after being back in Asia), we managed to be the first to find a newly published cache! We took a rest day yesterday to catch up on sleep and finally unpack, but only to pack again for a short 4 day trip around the southern peninsula. We don’t have any grandiose plans, though we wanted to see a bit of the country before returning to work. And today we drove down further than we’ve been, heading to Malacca for two nights, and along the way stopped at this stash, which we were first to find, again! Awesome!

Jeebus, that’s some awesome luck! Two for two!

Second day back to Asia, and after a very slow and ‘relaxing’ morning, we leave home for only one mission; Visiting the Xuyan immersive experience show, which was both an anniversary and christmas present between Laura and I. Since the city is starting to be on lockdown with preparations for the NYE events, we’ve had to navigate around a few closures, but got to where we needed to be. After the lovely show, we decided we needed to take another nap, and as such were on the way home. But it would be our wonderful lock, as just next to the show, and only a 2 minute drive away, was a newly published cache, yet unfound. How could we possibly turn this opportunity down!?

We headed there, parked at GZ, and Laura walked to the clearly identifiable hiding spot. She asked whether this is the same CO of the FTFD we claimed yesterday, as this was an identical cache container, and among opening it up, we were delighted to find another virgin logbook. We got it open, stamped our nick in, snapped a photo, and returned it as we had found it.

From here, it was a quick and breezy drive home, where we took another nap, later on finished unpacking our suitcases (just so we could pack again for tomorrow’s journey). We spend midnight on our roof, where from the 45th floor we had a lovely view of the fireworks which took over the city, with smoke so intense that it blocked the view of 118’s lights.

    Happy new year!

It’s that just the dopest? We arrived back to KL today, after a long long trip across the world, and after a brief nap and getting some unpacking done, we headed into town to meet up with our ex-colleagues and friends, so that we could meet their new daughter and reconnect after half a year of not seeing them since Myanmar. After saying goodbye, I checked the map and along the way home saw that we could very conveniently stop by this new stash, which was recently published. At GZ, Laura managed to find the tiny nano container quickly, and we could put our nickname first into the logbook.

That’s a sweet ‘welcome home present’!

Time to unpack, time to chill, time to get a bit of rest and get accommodated to our apartment. Glad to be back! Let’s see what else will be on the agenda this week, before we rush back to work!

Landing once again at KLIA, we’re happy for the warm return to Asia where we’ll be roughly for the next 7 and a half months. Don’t worry, we’ll drop you off at a suitable cache sooner than that!

While this was a red-eye flight, I couldn’t get many nice photos of this TB along the way. But I’m including a photo from the journey, so that this TB’s gallery can continue to grow! Now let’s head home to get some rest!

After a short morning flight, we flew against time to head back to Asia. It’s a tossup which gulf carrier we go with when we transit every few months, and this time the choice went back to Qatar, therefor we had a brief 2 hour layover at Hamad airport. While here, we were chill and happy to walk to the gardens, and along the way we also brought this TB to the iconic teddy bear. I think a nice photo deserves to be shared!

Walking around, we had a nice winter walk, and our attention next set on this fourth out of five stashes visited today; we were ready to conclude our walk but I had just finished solving this easy stash while we were here and thought it would be a shame not to pick up the container itself. As such, Laura and the fam headed towards the car, and I ran towards GZ. I spotted the stash quickly, but had to wait a little while for muggles to pass by from the area (during which time I went to note down the answer to the adventure lab nearby). . This was a very straightforward and easy stash to solve; the logbook and container and prefab are all in fantastic condition, and the pencil in the stash is present. The hide itself was easy to take down and get back up. Exciting that this TB Was with us!

The very last geocaching find in Europe not only in 2025, but for the next 7 and a half months. That was today’s target, as at the very least I had wanted to check off a mission/date for a challenge cache which we’re working on in the long run. But alas, it’s a packing day just before we say goodbye to this continent for another half year, and as such I stayed home to pack and do a bit of cleaning while Laura headed out for some very last minute shopping. I checked our geo-needs for the day, and picked this one single cache, which would end up helping us with two of those needs. And thus Laura set off, on a mission for that last minute shopping and finding the stash.

Laura got on her own with Jitka, and noted that the container and logbook are in perfect condition. An easy park and grab which she saw already from the car, Laura opened up the logbook and stamped in our nick at 11:20 am, making this our 8312th overall find. Laura returned the stash as she found it, and headed home. Packing packing packing, and in 22 hours we take off.

I still remember the old cache which was placed at this exact spot, archived a few years back, and surprisingly taking this long to replace. Always happy for a renewal; and I'm happy that this TB could make the visit here!

After our appointment concluded, we and the parental units stopped by for lunch in the city, which was just delightful. Such a nice sendoff! And with limited time left, we went for a very short walk as a final goodbye, as well as to pick up a few stashes. As we had another meetup with a friend in Prague at 5, we realized that we were running late and quickly hopped on the highway. Originally we wanted to stop at home first, but we had to go straight to Holesovice. I managed to trim 15 minutes off our ETA, and as such we arrived a little bit earlier to our Big Smokers dinner date. Laura was happy for the nap in the car, meanwhile I needed to stretch my legs. Seeing that we had a few minutes to spare, I decided to walk around the corner to this stash, which I was able to find relatively early, but then the problem occurred. Just before reaching down for the stash, a lady parked her car a foot away from me. And in this awkward position, I thought I would wait her out, but unfortunately the woman was there to stay, waited for a friend to come down and they started chatting. Oh lord, why this timing, why this location? It was so very awkward, but a few minutes of waiting and moving around, I managed to eventually get the stash, quickly ink in our nick, and quickly return it. While doing this, I was surprised at the good condition of the logbook considering that it is not directly sheltered from the elements. After adding our nick to the logbook, I snapped a photo and drafted this log, which made this our 8311th overall find, and today’s final of five visited caches. I then headed back to the venue, where it was perfect timing and I just met up with our friend as she approached. We had a nice evening, spending our last few hours in town, before the big packing day.
