Walking around we were able to easily figure out the AdLabs, and I’m happy we only needed to visit two before we got the coords to this cache. We headed towards GZ, where we were able to quickly spot and find the stash. Laura and I opened up the logbook, which we noted is in good condition, and we're happy for another fishing type cache!

After our appointment concluded, we and the parental units stopped by for lunch in the city, which was just delightful. Such a nice sendoff! Knowing that the list was getting short, after lunch we decided we’d go for a walk, only a kilometer away from where we had lunch. We couldn’t plan anything big, as Laura and I had another meetup in Prague in just a few hours.

As such, we hurried up a big, put on our heated gloves, hats, and all the layers we had available, and went on our short double loop in this nice park. We got to GZ while getting intel for another few caches around, and stopped by here where we quickly spotted the banana. With our tool ready, it was quick and easy to seize the stash, bring it down and open it up. Laura got the logbook out and we inked our nick in.

Another important day in our journey and an exciting appointment along the way, today Laura and I and her parents left HC#2 so that we could make our appointment in Pilsen. The tryouts were in the late morning, and so we left in two cars, Laura heading straight to the appointment while I made one very quick stop at this stash. Before flying back to Malaysia I knew we wanted to get at least three caches to help complete one treasure campaign which we wouldn’t be able to finish off as easily in Asia.

And so while I didn’t have much time to spare, I had no issue making a quick stop at this stash which we pass by every time we drive past as it’s’ along the main road. Half a year ago I stopped by the cemetery to visit the challenge cache, today I stop here solely to visit this cache. Parking at the same spot, I grabbed my tool and walked. I walked very swiftly, something between walking and a slow jog. I was freezing and took my gloves out, I was happy to have them. Around me there were nice frosty trees, it gave everything a nice feeling. I got to GZ and quickly found the right tree, not by seeing the cache, but by the amount of longer twigs nearby. I then spotted the stash, and used my tool to bring it down. The stash itself and logbook are both in good condition; I shakily took out our stamp and inked it into the logbook, took in the view, and carefully returned everything just as I had found it, and ran back towards the car. Little time left; luckily Laura was just in time for the appointment, and me being a few minutes late posed no issue. We met up, and spent two hours in a very important place, giving us a lot to think about over the next half year. I’m happy that I was able to extend today’s adventure by brining this TB to this stash.

After our appointment concluded, we and the parental units stopped by for lunch in the city, which was just delightful. Such a nice sendoff! And with limited time left, we went for a very short walk as a final goodbye, as well as to pick up a few stashes. As we had another meetup with a friend in Prague at 5, we realized that we were running late and quickly hopped on the highway. Originally we wanted to stop at home first, but we had to go straight to Holesovice. I managed to trim 15 minutes off our ETA, and as such we arrived a little bit earlier to our Big Smokers dinner date. Laura was happy for the nap in the car, meanwhile I needed to stretch my legs. Seeing that we had a few minutes to spare, I decided to walk around the corner to this stash, which I was able to find relatively early, but then the problem occurred. Just before reaching down for the stash, a lady parked her car a foot away from me. And in this awkward position, I thought I would wait her out, but unfortunately the woman was there to stay, waited for a friend to come down and they started chatting. Oh lord, why this timing, why this location? It was so very awkward, but a few minutes of waiting and moving around, I managed to eventually get the stash, quickly ink in our nick, and quickly return it. While doing this, I was surprised at the good condition of the logbook considering that it is not directly sheltered from the elements. After adding our nick to the logbook, I snapped a photo and drafted this log, which made this our 8311th overall find, and today’s final of five visited caches. I then headed back to the venue, where it was perfect timing and I just met up with our friend as she approached. We had a nice evening, spending our last few hours in town, before the big packing day.

After speeding through the 20 logs and not writing much, I end the day with this DNF. Damn..!

Today’s day can be summed up very easily (at least in terms of the geocaching part) as an extreme park & grab day. Laura left Prague yesterday and I was alone at home for about 12 hours, before I left home after a non-eventful morning and headed to our old HC#2. The plan was a short evening together with Laura’s family, before an important appointment tomorrow morning in Pilsen. It’s a calm and cold Friday evening, and the weather is cold cold cold; I missed most of the sunlight of the day as I left home at 3:30pm. The 90 minute drive took me four hours, as I made 20 stops along the way. Yesterday I had planned my route so that I would basically take every second exit from the highway, and make many quick park & grab stops.

As such, the nineteenth of twenty stops was this stash; After parking not too far away, I walked to GZ.

We pass this cache which buzzes on my phone every time we drive past this bridge, which is at least twice every time we come to our HC#2. Yet I’ve only attempted to visit once, which was in the summer a year and a half ago exactly. The nettles back then were too high and I had no way to conquer this stash. I knew that now in the winter, it would be much easier as the flora would have calmed down and made it easier to search. And so I tried again. But again, unsuccessfully. I walked around in circles at least for 15 minutes, until Laura messaged me that they’re waiting on me to start dinner. I was circling in circles. I was freaked out by a larger-sounding animal jumping into the water. I checked every tree two times, three times, some four. The frozen ground and dead leaves crunched under every step. But the cache; that eluded me once again. I have no clue how we will avenge this DNF. I gave up my search and finally headed to the warmth of the home, to spend a nice evening with Laura & fam.

Bummer. Glad this TB came along with me for the geo-adventure! Tomorrow we’ll be on the move again, stopping in Pilsen for an important appointment. Just a bit over 48 hours left in Europe!
