About This Item

A Soldiers Pride

This is a patch off of a soldiers uniform. This young man is stationed in Afghanistan and sent this to me as a thank you for sending him much needed items. Visit www.booksforsoldiers.com to help the many other soldiers fighting overseas. Mike sent this to me because he is no longer allowed to wear it on his uniform (he did not go into specifics, but I believe it has to do with the recent conflicts). It is half of the American flag and half of afghanistan's flag. It would like to visit various war memorials around the world as a reminder that freedom is not free.

I visited Washelli Cemetery this afternoon to find the two caches hidden there, but was struck almost immediately by the Veterans Memorial here and the well maintained veterans section of the cemetery, including the attached photos of the grave stones, the Memorial itself and the Medal of Honor recripient who is buried here.

This TB hung out with us for awhile... But before dropping it off, it accompanied us to our daughters' Veterans Day assembly. Lots of Veterans were there from every branch! My husband and I proudly represented the USAF! Happy Veterans Day!
