Please help get the CO2 in our beautiful planet's atmosphere to under 350 parts per million. This relic would love to hear, in your comments, how your locality is working to heal this Earth we share. In addition to posting hope from where you live, you might post a photo of something that shows how people in your area are educating, planting, building, engineering, thinking, or otherwise making a more sustainable Earth, for generations to come. With Peace & Love from Canada, Randomm Cupacakes.
This ancient brass plate dates back to the Oil Age. Carbon dating suggests it came from the mid- to late- 20th century, a time when many humans believed their oil-fueled ways would never cease. This relic was unearthed at a NoFrills brand petroleum station at Carlaw & Gerrard in Toronto, Canada. These stations, once common, dispensed "gas" or "petrol" to cars which drove on internal combustion engines. This round piece of metal is stamped "CAPACITY 45000 LITRES," which archaelogists believe speaks to the holding capacity of one of below-ground tanks that once held vast quantities of inexpensive petroleum. The object is quite scratched, likely from heavy vehicles rolling over it, after it came loose. You can learn more about this bygone age and how people worked to change their ways at 350.org.
