About This Item

8 nation First Finder Geocoin

Bought a couple of these coins to use as FTF reward for a new cache. It is intended to honor the Native Americans as the original First Finders. Our super friends NoCache-NoCredit told us they are using their 100 Finds Achieviement Geocoin as a personal travel bug. We thought it was a great idea and decided to keep one of the coins as our personal TB to go on all of our cache hunts. Thanks for the idea NCNC!

We set out today in quest of number 800. Best laid plans… Headed out to Jacksonville and Virginia. We got 13 and 5 DNF (well when we got home we discovered 3 of the DNF had been archived. Definite waste of time. Got to rethink how I do my closest PQ.) It was time to head home and I figured there would surely by two on the way back from Virginia. There was only one so we are at 799. Dropping the coin in my favorite cache of the day, will post a pic later.

Another super weekend with NoCache-NoCredit!!! Caching, dominoes, caching, cribbage, caching and more cribbage. Oh yeah we fit a birthday party and the Lincoln Troubadours in there as well. I think I had 60 for the weekend not sure how many NC-NC had for sure but a few more. Looking forward to December 6th.

Since we aren’t going to Colorado I have PTO days to burn so I took today off, boss wasn’t real pleased about the short notice but reluctantly said OK. Made a cache run this morning that was disastrous, drove all over creation and only found one. Then after lunch I decided to take a hike in the Lick Creek area. There were two there that I haven’t tried. Stupidly set out on a mile and a half hike and forgot my water bottle. This is the kind of caching I enjoy even if it wears me out. Saw two deer and a woodchuck so it made the hike worth the effort. Never knew chuck could climb trees but he did right in front of me. NCNC check your calendar for August 15th – Fred Nika birthday party. We will call tomorrow to talk some more.

Two firsts on this one: first at night and first in a suit. 😁 The wedding reception venue was VERY noisy - even without music you couldn't talk to the person next to you. Needed a break and some quiet so headed outside. HEY check the GPSr, sure 'nuf there is a cache across the street and I can see a guard rail and lamp post. Tuned out to be the skirt lifter. At least Mrs. G laughed when I went back in. 😎 😉

Had a couple of hours to cache yesterday (got most of what I tried) and an hour or so today but lots of muggles out and in the way today so didn’t try very many. Definitely not a 59 cache weekend.
