About This Item

Bopa Dee Bug

This is one of a set of conjoined triplets that were born and raised in Manti, Utah. Joined at the antennas, they were recently separated after a short, but intense surgery and now want to go their separate ways. After all the notoriety of being the only known conjoined triplet ladybugs in the world, they are accustomed to being photographed. They have all become quite the “Hams.” Attaching photos to your cache logs is right up their alley. Take good care of Bopa Dee until it returns home.

Bopa Dee had a nice visit with us, although a bit longer than we expected. She really seems to like her baths. She spent some time enjoying the foods, snuck a few dessert berries, and when it was time to leave we found her napping in the garden. Now that's she's well fed and rested she wanted to get another state off her list. Hopefully she can find her way to another very quickly.

  • Supervising the dinner
  • Testing the waters
  • Sneaking some dessert
  • A quick nap before hitting the road

As we were leaving the Pacolet River cache a small voice cried out to us. Going through the ammo can one last time we found a weak and hungry lady bug. It turns out that she didn't know food wasn't permitted in the caches when she decided to go on the trip. We'll be taking her home for a week or two to fatten back up and hopefully we'll get her one more state closer to her goals. We'll try to post a few pictures of Bopa Dee as she gets back into shape around the house.

The little ladybug literally leapt out at us when we opened the cache, so we exchanged her for another TB we were carrying. We'll try to get her someplace scenic asap.

Bopa Dee will be on it's way soon. I may drop it in the Cache I have to plant. There are a couple friends in there to keep it company.
