Cochon wants to go everywhere, do everything, and meet everyone along the way!
Cochon is a geocaching poodle/bishon mix that we rescued from a shelter in New Orleans. He looked terrible when we first saw him there, with mattled hair balls on is legs and rastafarian dreadlocks all over. He was going into his 2nd week there, and he was going to be put down in a few days. They had lowered the adoption fee to only $12 to try to move him out, but we would have payed much more. He was a friendly, bright, and healthy guy who just needed a break. Cochon has FAR exceeded our wildest expectations and is a wonderful, smart, and expressionful soulmate. We love him to pieces!
Cochon got his name as a tribute our friend who found him for us while we were visiting the West Bank in New Orleans. She is known as the "Pig Lady" because her ex's nicname was Pignic and her house has all kinds of pig nicknacks. Anyway, since that area is Acadiana and there are French words all over, we named him Cochon, for little pig. Also, we were attending the Jazz Festival at that time and one of the food vendors is called Cochon de Lait, or milk-fed piglet. Actually, it was a pulled pork sandwich with slaw. We, in our fest-dazed state, started calling him Cochon de Lamb on account of how piglet-ish in size, and lamb-white-ish his hair was.
You can call him Cochon, Coochie, or just plain ole cutie pie!
