I want this traveler to go to Portugal and get a picture in front of the Castle or ruins of Afonso the IV, King of Portugal. Once completed, I would like it to return to Texas to come home. It can be dropped in GC7XPTY
My great grandfather was orphaned at a young age and lived with his aunt and uncle. When he turned of age, he came to Texas and never spoke of his family. When questioned by my mother he would avoid any questions. My grandmother didn’t know much about him or even his parents names. He died in the 1970’s without answering questions.
This past year, I started researching his line. It turned out to be an amazing line! This orphaned child that refused to talk about his family hailed from royalty. The first name I found that I could easily research was Marcos Alonso, the conquistador. He comes from the illigitimate line from Luisa Estrada who was a lover of King Ferdinand. Once finding this line, I was able to trace it to the King of Portugal, Afonso the IV, the Brave King of Portugal and Bergundy.
After also taking the ancestry dna test, I am 14% Iberian peninsula.
The travel bug has a large gem attached to it.
