To travel to as many campsites and campfires as possible, looking for unattended snacks. Please take a pic of me at your campsite, and tell me your favourite camp memory!
Every year, the hubby and I camp at Pinery Provincial Park. We are usually pretty good about cleaning up our campsite before going to bed, but THIS night got the better of us. We had all gone to bed, it was super late and dark. All of a sudden I hear a snarling, snorting noise RIGHT BEHIND MY TENT. It starts moving around to the front and then went silent. I was NOT going to poke my head outside to see what was up. All of a sudden we hear something ripping into a bag of chips, snorting, snarling, choking, snarling and snorting some more. We slowly unzipped the smallest corner of the window, dying to know what was about to kill us. What do we see? A raccoon! Who knew raccoons made so many scary noises! And I swear he looked us right in the eyes, as if to say thanks for the snacks, lol. So, we learned that raccoons make scary noises at night, and they WILL come find any snacks that didn't make it back in the cooler, lol. I'd love to hear your camping stories!
