About This Item

Coin "Face"

This coin should be with me most if not all of the time. I intend to use this to track my milage from this point (18 Oct 2006) forward. The Travel Bug "I Woont Tellieu" has decided that he can leave me now and is moving out on a new mission.

Retrieve It from a Cache 11/12/2006 GeekBoy.from.Illinois retrieved it from @#&% Baldwin !! Illinois   Visit Log

We decided to go for this cache today because we had heard from others that it was a "must do" cache. The gate to the "Special Use" area was open so we drove on in and got a bearing on the cache. Less than .2 miles away, it should be a quick and easy find, or should it...

As we approached the area, we saw something a bit out of place, and as we thought, the previous finder did not do as good a job with the camo as they might have, so this find was quite easy for us. I grabbed "Jay's Evil Micro" coin, and ClickChik grabbed a TB. When we finished, we tried to do a much better job on the camo, but I suspect that we still left what a good cacher will be able to identify as "an unnatural stick pile". From here we were off to find "On The Border".

Retrieve It from a Cache 11/12/2006 GeekBoy.from.Illinois retrieved it from East Bound and Down Illinois   Visit Log

While we were having our breakfast this morning, ClickChik was reading the cache details in her PDA. Her laughter and comments made me have to do the same. The description and logs made us have to visit this cache today. When we got here, we didn't realize how far it was from the parking to the actual cache. I found myself thinking, could you actually walk that far and not be in the interstate? The answer was, yes, you could, but not by far... 😎

Retrieve It from a Cache 11/12/2006 GeekBoy.from.Illinois retrieved it from WSQ Helmont Kellogg Wisconsin   Visit Log

As we entered the cemetery I noticed a head stone with what looked like a tree branch on it, so as ClickChik went off to make the TB drop, I decided to try to clean-up that head stone. When I got to it, I found that it wasn't a tree branch, but some dead flowers (that had been planted around the stone), and a bunch of grass clippings. I removed as much as I could from the stone allowing you to be able to read the names of the couple buried there. They had both passed in the early 1950's and might not have any family in the area any longer, but they still deserved some respect, so I tried to give them a little as I cleared away the grass and dead flowers...

Retrieve It from a Cache 11/12/2006 GeekBoy.from.Illinois retrieved it from The Mansion Illinois   Visit Log

Well, we had left from finding "Bug Two" and eating breakfast and were on our way north to drop-off a travel bug when ClickChik noticed that there was a Bridal Shower at the Mansion today. We got turned around and went back since there are not many chances for us to find this cache (when the mansion is open). We first started out and found ourselves to be heading away from the cache, but we got turned heading the right way. Once again, ClickChik found the cache while I was fighting with my GPSr trying to get it to point me in the right direction.

Retrieve It from a Cache 11/12/2006 GeekBoy.from.Illinois retrieved it from Bug Two Illinois   Visit Log

We got a late start this morning, and while ClickChik was in the shower, I was tending the morning chores with the dogs. Once they had all been out to potty, and were given their breakfast, I sat down at the computer to check the morning emails, etc. I saw this new cache notification and had it printed, had the GPX downloaded and already in my GPSr when she called down that I needed to get "in gear" to catch this cache. We made it there shortly after 11:00 AM and found that no one had beaten us to it. After finding the cache, we moved to the "diner" across the road where I could watch for other seekers while we ate our breakfast and planned out the rest of our caching day...
