No specific mission, just to travel from geocache to geocache visiting places far and wide.  Will be interesting to see where this tag spends Christmas each year.

About This Item

Christmas in Ramona, CA

2017 Christmas Holiday Tag # 2, First Christmas since I started geocaching.  Launching from San Diego (Ramona) California where there is never any snow, so maybe this tag will have the "White Christmas" we don't get sometimes in it's travels.

Lovely sunset tonight. The Cabbage Palmetto, (Arecaceae Sabal palmetto,) was adopted as the "Official State Tree of the State of South Carolina" by Joint Resolution No. 63, approved March 17, 1939. The Palmetto was symbolical of the defeat of the British fleet at Fort Moultrie on Sullivan's Island. The fort was built of Palmetto logs, which absorbed the impact of the cannon balls.
