RADD Race - The Little Mermaid vs Cheeky Monkey
My partner and I have been caching together since we started dating and recently we came across an amazing idea for a trackable race with yearly prizes/forfeit for the winner/loser.
The winner will be whichever tag travels the furthest distance by NYE on any given year...

South of the river again. This time, you are at Sanderstead. Nothing too exciting has happened here. It was the childhood home of model Kate Moss. Additionally, Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be executed in the UK, lived in Sanderstead. Good to find some solved puzzles, especially this zoological one. 🦣

Double events in London today but a few hours gap between them so I took you ‘south of the river’ to Burgess Park in Camberwell. Unlike most parks in London, all the land now occupied by the park was previously used for housing, industry and transport infrastructure. Development of the park started in 1943 and was helped along by heavy bombardment during WW2. 🪖

Dingo was due to head home today (until him flight was cancelled at the last minute) so we took a quick trip to Richmond Upon Thames. Richmond was founded following King Henry VII's building of Richmond Palace in 1501 from which the town derives its name. The palace commemorated King Henry's earldom of Richmond, North Yorkshire, the original Richmond. The town and palace is also associated with Queen Elizabeth I (r. 1558–1603), who spent her last days there. At the moment, Richmond is enjoying fame as the home of Ted Lasso’s football team. ⚽️

I have Dingo from Australia staying with me at the moment so I took you and him in to see the sights of London and enjoy some dim sum for lunch in Chinatown. First stop was Leicester Square so I could complete this virtual. Seems someone has stolen Paddington so I was stuck with horrible Mr Bean. 🥪

Filling in some of my map with smiley faces and boosting my church Micro numbers. Eastcote is a northwestern suburb of London. Wikipedia says “no historically significant events have taken place in Eastcote”. And that’s really all I can tell you except that it had a nice 17th century pub for lunch. 🍻
