This fountain was commissioned by the mayor of Bordeaux, France, to celebrate the arrival of running water in the city, it and five others stood at both ends of Allées de Tourny until the 1960s. Produced in the Barbezat art foundry, the Fountain of Tourny was designed by sculptor Mathurin Moreau, and was presented by La Maison Simons as a gift to the City of Quebec for its 400th anniversary.
Unfortunately, it wasn't working when we visited the city, but the cache gives me the opportunity to post other pictures of the area, which is both beautiful and interesting.
