Sundays on Mont Royal are lots of fun. They have mock battles (with foam-padded swords, spears and arrows) and people get together in groups to juggle and play drums.

  • A mock battle ... ... this is a regular event in good weather.
  • That's our little (?) boy ... ... with the camera and the purple hair.
  • A group of drummers ... ... that got larger as the afternoon wore on.

This was a sneaky little cache in the middle of Montreal, but it gives me the chance to post some pictures of the city.

  • The view ... ... from out hotel bedroom.
  • These signs remind you ... ... that Montreal is very French.
  • Old and new ... ... are side by side everywhere.
  • I don't know ... ...what they're all looking at !
  • A piece of the Berlin Wall ... ... in a shopping centre ?

Gratulerer med dagen Emma Louise (I hope that's right). Your travel bug was staying at the Clarendon Hotel in Quebec City on your birthday and then went with us to the Montmorency Falls (sorry, couldn't look for a geocache there).

  • The Clarendon Hotel ... ... in the centre of Vieux Quebec.
  • Montmorency Falls
Retrieve It from a Cache 5/5/2008 Mullet's Dad retrieved it from La fontaine de Tourny/The Tourny Fountain Québec, Canada   Visit Log

This fountain was commissioned by the mayor of Bordeaux, France, to celebrate the arrival of running water in the city, it and five others stood at both ends of Allées de Tourny until the 1960s. Produced in the Barbezat art foundry, the Fountain of Tourny was designed by sculptor Mathurin Moreau, and was presented by La Maison Simons as a gift to the City of Quebec for its 400th anniversary.

Unfortunately, it wasn't working when we visited the city, but the cache gives me the opportunity to post other pictures of the area, which is both beautiful and interesting.

  • The fountain ... ... as it should look (taken from the cache details).
  • You can travel in style ... ... if you want to.
  • Part of the walls ... ... of the old city.
  • Paintings on walls ... ... there are lots around Quebec City.

We thought that this was really interesting. A cannonball was fired into the city in 1759 and hit this tree ... which then grew round it.

  • The cannonball ... ... in the tree.

Visited Squirrel Village cache with Emma Louise but failed to log the TB through. This is on Mont Royal in Montreal, Quebec.

  • There were lots of these around ...
  • ... but only one of these.
  • The bird that did this ... ... could give you a very bad headache.
  • A view of Montreal ... ... taken from near the cache.
  • Still some snow ... ... left in May.
  • But plenty of sun ... ... for the flowers.
