TL;DR: To travel around and collect keychains.
Mission: This Katamari Travel Bug wants to collect as many keychains as possible. Every geocacher who picks it up and is up to the task should attach a new keychain to the TB, so that hopefully after time the TB will have so many keychains that it'll barely be recognizable anymore.
I do have one more request, please upload a photo so that I get to enjoy seeing how it grows over time.
If you're not interested, simply log the travel bug, maybe take it with you to a different cache or event, and send it on its way so that it can continue searching for keychains.
Katamari is a Japanese video game franchise. In the series you play The Prince, as he rolls a katamari ball around a level, collecting objects and making the katamari bigger. The katamari can roll up any object that is smaller than it, and the bigger the katamari gets, the bigger objects it can roll up, starting from paper clips and snacks to telephone poles and buildings.
What you're holding in your hand is a Katamari Travel Bug. Every time it touches a geocacher it takes away one of its keychains, slowly growing as it conquers the world.
