And so we once again embark on a journey to a new place on this planet, and we didn’t even realize that this trip would be further away from work than if we would travel back home. And that’s quite a surprise, since we both thought that Australia was ‘just around the corner’ from Myanmar. But we were wrong, as our total air travel time was seventeen hours and a few minutes on a three leg journey taking us through recently visited cities. That was already quite a long journey, not to mention my sinus infection acting up made the flights extremely painful. But alas, after departing Mandalay, revisiting Bangkok and Singapore, we landed in Melbourne at six in the morning tired, hungry, and excited. Neither of us have ever been this far south or east on our planet, and we’re excited to start discovering part of the country. Firstly camping, then a roadtrip. But today, we flew in and did in fact have to rest a little before getting out. I am obviously excited to get our of Myanmar; we’ve had a 35 day sobriety from geocaching and were glad to be in a country with so so many geo-options! We were fortunate to get picked up at the airport after our long trip, drove home and settled in for a while. We needed to get some supplies for our upcoming two days of camping and headed to a nearby shopping mall, where apart from buying some food & beers, I was also able to score a doctors appointment for my sinuses.
While in the area, it was finally time to open up our map and check out some of the nearby caches; this was the second stop for us today. After re-introducing our muggle friends to this game, we ventured to this park and towards this stash, meeting up at GZ together, just as Laura had found and opened up the container. We loved the surrounding area and were happy the stash is in good condition. We stamped in our nick at 5:12 pm, marking our 7080th overall find and second Australian cache visited. I’m also adding adding a photo we snapped here with the TB while visiting.
Nice!
