Geocache Description:


The CSI series is a collection of caches that derive their name from the popular television program in which the lead character has often been heard to say, “Follow the evidence.” Unlike a more traditional mystery cache in which a puzzle must be solved to determine the coordinates of the cache, the CSI series offers something different. CSI-4: The Crossing

There is plenty to explore beyond this CSI destination in woods that offer very interesting terrain. Use the information below to locate the crossing and the nearby CSI-4 cache.

A certain trail crosses a certain stream and meets another trail that runs north to this CSI destination. The cache is well hidden near the base of a tree along a ledge.

There is something of interest that may prove helpful at the start and something else of note at the crossing, but the information provided on this page should be sufficient even without those aids.

Basic Data:

Designated Parking: Exactly 231.979 degrees from parking to cache
Size: Small twelve-ounce jar
Trails: Excellent for hiking, the biking is rough and challenging in spots
Proximity to trail: About twenty feet west of trail
Distance from parking: More than a half mile

There are multiple access points to these woods but two parking areas stand out as being most popular. The largest of these two parking spots measures exactly .96 miles to the cache you seek, while the designated parking offers a shorter, more interesting hike.
