Geocache Description:


The CSI series is a collection of caches that derive their name from the popular television program in which the lead character has often been heard to say, “Follow the evidence.” Unlike a more traditional mystery cache in which a puzzle must be solved to determine the coordinates of the cache, the CSI series offers something different. Instead of conquering a puzzle, you must follow the evidence to each CSI container. For more details about the series and where the “evidence” can be found, go to the CSI-1 cache page (visit link)


CSI-7: Treehouse

This hike offers a mixed bag of scenery, as your final destination will contrast sharply with your beginning point, a spot that does not seem very inviting and betrays the trails you will find ahead.

These are public lands, so be not dismayed by that which would appear to forbid entry. In fact, a dilligent sleuth should find this obstacle to be quite helpful.

Also, keep in mind, the cache is snow friendly and the hike is particularly nice in the wintertime when cache options are less plentiful.

Basic Data:

Designated Parking: Room for a few cars at a bearing of 153.535 degrees from cache
Size: Small twelve-ounce jar
Trails: Great for hiking and biking except for one uphill climb
Proximity to trail: Less than twenty feet or so
Distance from parking: A bit more than a half mile by air

Excavation in the vicinity of the trailhead and further along now makes the designated access an unpleasant hike. Sleuths are advised to use the available information to determine the trailhead and cache location, then access the cache from one of at least two other alternate trailheads, one of which should be easy to determine if you are on the right track.
