Geocache Description:


The CSI series is a collection of caches that derive their name from the popular television program in which the lead character has often been heard to say, “Follow the evidence.” Unlike a more traditional mystery cache in which a puzzle must be solved to determine the coordinates of the cache, the CSI series offers something different. Instead of conquering a puzzle, you must follow the evidence to each CSI container. For more details about the series and where the “evidence” can be found, go to the CSI-1 cache page (visit link)


CSI-6: Boulder Lookout

Trailhead may be difficult to spot but there is some minimal signage that implies public access is allowed, while making it clear certain types of uses are prohibited

Basic Data:

Designated Parking: Limited roadside parking
Size: Small rectangular container
Trails: Hiking and biking allowed
Proximity to trail: Some very minimal bushwhacking to a likely spot.
Distance from parking: More than a quarter mile, but less than a half mile.

Take a walk down a not so direct path that descends gradually before eventually connecting to a main trail roughly two hundred feet or so from the cache location where you should search no more than twenty feet from the big attraction.

Biking is pretty rough in spots until you arrive at the main trail. At that point, there is plenty of nice biking if you have time to explore the area further.

Access from designated parking during mid-summer to fall may present a tough hike for the first hundred feet or so, as the trail gets overgrown until you reach the woods. During this time of year, there is an alternate, longer path to the cache that should be evident if you have identified the correct woods in which this cache has been hidden.
