The other day, I visited my grandma, it had been quite a while
since I had seen her. During our conversation I mentioned
geocaching. What did I get myself into? She sounded really
interested and decided to try hiding a cache herself. I didn't
quite expect that, but I gave her a 3x1" camouflaged container, let
her borrow my GPSr and have a shot at it.
Now, you don't know Grandma. She's not an outdoorsy type of
person, and last time I checked, she wasn't the least bit tech
savvy, I can tell you that. But she never gives up, so I really
didn't know what would come out of this.
Today, I got a phone call from her. Guess what? She went to hide
a cache. She said she turned the GPSr on and since she didn't know
what to do next, she just pulled out her camera and took a picture
of the screen! Ha! I can picture Grandma holding her vintage 1952
camera in one hand and the GPSr in the other and juggling with them
to immortalize the moment.
The problem is, she was on her way to her round the world cruise
and didn't have the prints yet. She had sent the pictures for
processing and so she gave me the receipt number over the
phone:
6A490134 - 5BB5 - 463C - BC6B - 53390D815723
I didn't quite understand where she said she got that from, so I
called around and checked every film processing shop and camera
store, none of them recognizes this receipt number. I'm starting to
wonder about Grandma's abilities now. Anyway, since I have no idea
what to do with this, I'm posting it here just in case someone
figures it out. I'm guessing that if anyone knows, this would be
the place to ask.
Thanks for your help!
