Geocache Description:

About the Series

The Greater Palmer Fall Foliage Tour is a collection of four caches: a traditional cache (Fox Hill, Palmer), a multi cache (Devil's Peak, West Warren), a letterbox hybrid (Mt. Dumplin, Palmer), and a puzzle cache (Swift River, Belchertown). You will need to track down the first three caches and collect some numbers from them to find the puzzle cache. If you are First to Find on the puzzle cache, you will become the proud owner of an unactivated 2007 Podcacher Geocoin

This series could be subtitled "Revenge of Dosido's Muggled Caches" as the 4 locations have all held caches that we placed, and were subsequently muggled.

As fall is my favorite season, all of these locations are fantastic spots to view and enjoy the fantastic colors of New England!

The Letterbox Hybrid

This cache is a letterbox hybrid, which means that you have the option of finding the cache using your GPSr, or by following written prose/clues and find it letterbox style.

This cache is atop Mt. Dumplin in Palmer proper. Mt. Dumplin was home to our aptly named Mt. Dumplin Lookout cache, as well as the recently archived What Can You See From Here?

The Muggle Story

Our Mt. Dumplin Lookout cache was stolen by a muggle, and Trialsrider found that a note was left taunting us, and challenging us to find it somewhere on Mt. Dumplin. I gamely looked, but did not find it. JeepersCreepers also had a multi cache here that had the initial stages disappear.

Cache Info

Since this is a letterbox hybrid, the cache contains a stamp as well as a logbook. Feel free to stamp in, but do not take the stamp or the stamp pad, those are there for the letterboxers to use!

The cache is a medium size lock-n-lock that we stole from Xiadog, and while not her usual ammo can canvas, the cache was decorated by Alexa. There is a collection of kids items to trade for, as well as a unactivated micro benchmark geocoin for the First to Find.

The walk is about 1.2 miles roundtrip, but the views are well worth the hike!

Please rehide well, as the top of Mt. Dumplin is frequented often by visitors! Good Luck!

Remember that hunting season starts soon - wear your blaze orange when out caching!
