Seventh Street Bridge

Built in 1910 and 1927, this reinforced concrete arch/T-beam bridge exhibits character-defining features of Beaux-Arts bridge design. Located on Seventh Street as it crosses the Los Angeles River between Boyle Heights and Downtown Los Angeles, the bridge rests on four vertical piers in a closed spandrel arch form and in a T-beam form on several smaller vertical piers. Appearing as a double-decker bridge, the lower deck and trio of concrete arch forms date to a streetcar bridge constructed in 1910. The navigable upper deck and T-beam supports date to a 1927 renovation. The deck of the bridge exhibits a sculpted concrete railing with heavy bellied Classical-style balusters. Ten pairs of mid-size pylons support decorative light fixtures while two pairs of monumental pylons have Classical-style electroliers with double luminaires.

The total length is 1000.0 feet, with the largest span at 91.9 feet, with a deck 56.1 feet wide.
