A nice walk for a Westie of about 4
and a half miles taking in at least 3 pubs, however the walk allows
you to take in other caches to extend the walk and pub count to 4
or 5 pubs!
All you have to do is promise not to tell Mrs W.W. that I often
take the dog on this circuit when I am not caching.
The circuit is on Army training grounds to the rear of Minley
Manor, there are plenty of warning signs that this is Military land
and to emphasise the point I have stuck 2 micros behind the warning
signs. Please do not touch anything that is not cache shape, all of
the caches have geocache labels to identify them. Westie would hate
for one of her geocaching buddies to get hurt, the Army do not use
live ammo here however that does not mean that it is safe to pick
up or touch any suspicious items.
If the Army are on operations here they tape off the road near
to WWSW 2 if they close the road please do the sensible thing and
return to do them another day (that includes you FTF sharks do not
try to do them backwards you will get arrested by the M.P’s).
Please be careful crossing the roads, I have done my best to
waypoint the crossing points so you should have some idea of when
to put your dog or kids on the lead!
You have the chance to extend the circuit by adding the Cache
Genie, Silent Sentry, Motorway Mayhem Jcn4, Pyestock Cypher,
Penguin series, Anna and Fundy, Entrance to Fleet Pond and even the
Basingstoke Canal series if you have the energy. P.S. if you go via
Fleet pond you can pick up the 4th pub at Sidetracked Fleet
station.
Enjoy the walk as much as my little white friend does, off now
to give her a bath!
Please Note: This is a Military Training Area to which Public
access is open at all times but which can involve the use of
Pyrotechnics. One of the safety rules for public access is:- " Do
not, (and ensure that children do not) approach, touch or pick up
any metal objects lying on the ground. Please adhere to all
Byelaws."
