I though I had found all the weirs in the Brindabella's years ago... Well, looks like I was wrong! I recently discovered on Johnny Boy's Walkabout Blog that he had also been hunting weirs, and found a couple that weren't on my map!
So here is another weir for your enjoyment (or torture 
). Build in 1968 by John Burns, CSIRO Project Officer. As per most of the other Brindabella weirs, the last couple of 100m to the weir is very overgrown, so make sure you wear protective clothing.
The gates to the fire trails around here are sometimes open, and sometimes not. So the total walking/riding distance will vary accordingly. Even when they are open, be prepared for a bit of a hike, as in my case, a large tree had fallen over the road, and I could drive no further.
It still amazes me how many weirs were built out here! I know they were used to measure the amount of water flow, and other scientific data, but why so many of them?
