Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in memory of John, father of cacher Sun and Shine.

John's father worked for CPR and he and his siblings grew up in Norton and he had many fond memories of his childhood. John loved his family, history and ancenstory, working in his workshop, animals, fishing, camping, and nature. John's philosophy about living a good life was to 'treat others as you want to be treated'. John and his family lived in Silverwood before retiring to Maquapit Lake. John had Parkinson's Disease but lived his life to the fullest and without complaint. John is interned at the Riverbank Cemetary not far from this cache. May you rest in peace.

Please enjoy the short walk from the Norton covered bridge and if adventerous, go to the top of the ridge and enjoy the view of the area. If you are lucky you might see a train go by on the tracks that run along the Kennebecasis River. Note: I don't believe the tracks that run over the divided highway are active but don't take any chances. The cache is off the trail about 20 feet or 7 metres so not to be disturbed by unfriendly muggles.

(FTF is a pathtag for the Twisted Sisters Pen4, Hawkshaw River Rat, and Jessie&Sophie's mom). Pen4 is the CO as she lives close and can maintain the cache. The ammo can contains theme related and kid friendly swag that the CO will replenish as the swag is gifted away.

There are a few other caches in this area, one at the covered bridge that makes this a worth while stop. You can pull off the main highway close to the covered bridge but this is not the most ideal location to park. If you exit at Norton and follow the signs for the covered bridge, Riverside Drive east is a dead end and takes you to a good parking spot close to the covered bridge but on the opposite side of the highway. Don't worry, there is a nice trail that takes you under the highway, along the Moosehorn Creek (take a dip if it's hot enough), to the covered bridge. Another cache is close to where you park.
